site news and information

Hi, All

First, for anyone having any problems bringing up the freePatternWizard pattern creation software by using the top drop-down menu, feel free to Take This Link

Our showcase has been updated. If you've previously uploaded a showcase in the past, please check to see if it's been posted; meanwhile, if you want to submit one (or another one, if you've already posted before), feel free to do so!

Also note we now have an additional (optional) assembly page for the freePatternWizard. This is for larger pieces that have multiple pages. Much smaller patterns won't need this.

To freePatternWizard paid Premium subscribers having problems logging in:

If you're logged into your Stitchboard account (shows "Hi, name" in the upper right corner of each page), you can ignore the rest of this message.

If you're not logged into your Stitchboard account and you are a freePatternWizard paid Premium subscriber, please take this link one time to verify your subscription(s). It will also ask you to change your password. Again, you only need to do this once.

If you are not a paid Premium subscriber and are having problems logging in, try logging into the Stitchboard website. If you see an "Invalid login username or password" message, you may need to re-register at this link or by clicking the "Register" link at the top of the page. If you try re-registering and get a "duplicate email address" message, you'll need to go through the "password change" function by using this link.

Sarah,
Welcome! Smile
What happened was that whoever made your pattern used the Stitchboard Full Palette. We don't recommend using this particular palette for crochet. This is why we made the Stitchboard Basic Palette. The Stitchboard Full Palette consists of too many colors that will often be impossible to find in yarns, and more specifically, in the same brand/thickness/type of fiber, which would be important for a blanket to be consistent throughout.
If it's at all possible, would you be able to re-run (or have the same person) re-run the image through the freePatternWizard, instead choosing the Stitchboard Basic Palette? (Or at least one of the yarn choices we have available.)
It won't look as nice as the pattern using the Full Palette, but it will also be much easier to get those colors in yarn. Smile

And yes, when I first started it, I considered many times not even finishing it.  I even laid it aside for a few months and never touched it.  But now, I'm soooooooo glad that I stuck it out.  It isn't finished yet, but I'm moving along.

Jessica,

Welcome!  Smile

Thanks for letting us know you're looking for this function!  As Terry explained, we do look for suggestions and try to prioritize them based on requests we've received.  We've got quite a long list (over 100 features!), so knowing what features people want the most is very helpful.

Thank you also for offering to test the function for us!  We're always interested in people who can test functions as we develop them and give good feedback based on actual use.  Smile

I'm thinking about a new small project. I have simply lost the interest for the big projects currently on the hook..

Anyhow.. I was thinking about making som coasters.. I am sick and tired of having to sand down my living room table (is made from oak, and it get's stains easily when people at putting their beverages down on it)..

I like these. They look like they are fun, and quick to make :p
I just wan't other colors..

I just posted a new tutorial on my blog - Design Your Own Knit Cowl.

While the Cowl is Knit, the tutorial is really a generic 'recipe" that can be used by crocheters to create their own crochet cowl.

It would be very helpful to me if people would give feedback and suggestions on how I can make these types of tutorials better, or easier, for stitchers.

I am unable to do video tutorials as I do not have the equipment, or space, to do that.

Thank you so much!
