site news and information

Hi, All

First, for anyone having any problems bringing up the freePatternWizard pattern creation software by using the top drop-down menu, feel free to Take This Link

Our showcase has been updated. If you've previously uploaded a showcase in the past, please check to see if it's been posted; meanwhile, if you want to submit one (or another one, if you've already posted before), feel free to do so!

Also note we now have an additional (optional) assembly page for the freePatternWizard. This is for larger pieces that have multiple pages. Much smaller patterns won't need this.

To freePatternWizard paid Premium subscribers having problems logging in:

If you're logged into your Stitchboard account (shows "Hi, name" in the upper right corner of each page), you can ignore the rest of this message.

If you're not logged into your Stitchboard account and you are a freePatternWizard paid Premium subscriber, please take this link one time to verify your subscription(s). It will also ask you to change your password. Again, you only need to do this once.

If you are not a paid Premium subscriber and are having problems logging in, try logging into the Stitchboard website. If you see an "Invalid login username or password" message, you may need to re-register at this link or by clicking the "Register" link at the top of the page. If you try re-registering and get a "duplicate email address" message, you'll need to go through the "password change" function by using this link.

Hi all,

I'm Priya and new to the forum. Though I'm not a regular cross stitcher, I love doing it and has often turned to it while going through tough times. I'm currently working on a candamar designs Thomas Kinkade kit titled Forest Chapel. I had bought it ten years back and had made a small start. Now a decade later I'm working on it again and I'm almost 80% done. I realized a floss named "pearl filament (#7282) is missing. I tried a floss converter to see if I could find an alternative in DMC. But this particular floss # came as unlisted. I tried the Candamar designs website which is not currently operrational and called a number I found listed for the company without any success.

Wanted to know if anyone has worked with this particular floss and if so what color it is? Can you suggest an alternative for the same?
Thanks!

Amber,
Welcome! Smile
If you've chosen "standard" stitch, that's single crochet. The reason it's not called single crochet is because in the UK there's no such thing as a single crochet - they call a single crochet a double crochet...LOL, how is that for confusing? Wink

Sara,

Wow.  It looks like this hasn't been working since at least February or March!

The problem actually had nothing to do with anything I've been working on so I must have inadvertently changed it sometime in the past.

Anyway, I just fixed it and at the same time added a feature where the downloaded .gif pattern has the same base file name as the original one uploaded.  When you save it, you can also name it something else.

So if you upload a photo called "kitten.jpg", the saved pattern will be "kitten.gif" (since all patterns are created as a .gif to maximize the quality).  If you upload a .gif image (like "kitten.gif"), it will add the prefix "pattern-" to the file name so you won't accidently write over your original image.  So in this example, the pattern file name would be "pattern-kitten.gif".

So try it again and let me know.

Terry

Is the Choose my own colors feature working? I have been trying to generate a pattern using this option, but it keeps only choosing black and white in the finished pattern.

Does this site create words in a popcorn stich
I'm looking to create my own pattern with popcorn stiches I was just wondering if this site does something like this
