Swedish Huck Weaving/Monk's Cloth

These are some bookmarks I created with Swedish Huck Weaving (a.k.a. Monk's Cloth). They were all stitched on 14 count Aida cloth.
I absolutely adore Huck Weaving. It goes very quickly. A bookmark is a project that can be completed in a relatively short amount of time, as compared to something cross stitched. (I don't have a photo of the backs of the bookmarks, but people always marvel at them, because you can't see anything! Literally, the back of a huck-woven piece has no threads showing whatsoever and looks like an unused piece of fabric.)
Melanie (known to the cat as "Rowr" or "Rowr Rowr") =^.^=

Small cross stitch pieces - "cover kits" from British cross stitch magazines

These are some small cross stitch pieces I made from British magazines. Though I've bought many American cross stitch magazines, I especially liked the British magazines for both their detailed projects and the free cover kits. :) I never met a free cover kit I didn't adore! ;D

Small cross stitch pieces from various places (mostly kits)

In order to feed my cross stitch addiction, I often purchased small, inexpensive kits that I could carry around with me. They fit in my handbag and were good for times I got stuck waiting somewhere, when a larger project would have been too cumbersome.

Cross stitched bookmarks

These are all cross stitched bookmarks that I made. Some are from kits included in British cross stitch magazines (which are also in the album of British cross stitch magazine cover kits), some are from inexpensive kits I purchased to carry around with me for times I'd be stuck waiting somewhere. At least one of these is my own design.

Cross stitched "tags"

Many years ago, I found a few "tag" kits to cross stitch on sale. These were small kits that didn't take a long time to make. They're a little too big to classify as bookmarks (and they're not really bookmarks, as they're made to be hung on a wall!), too small to be classified as medium sized pieces. Thus, I say they deserve their own album!
Note: I had forgotten I had a name tag in here. This was not from a kit. It came from a British cross stitch magazine, Mary Hickmott's New Stitches. I'm including it in this album because it's a tag!

Medium size cross stitched pieces

These are pieces that required a pretty decent amount of work, but don't qualify as large pieces. Many of these were kits.

My own designs

I have a few designs I created...some are licensed characters (like Tweety), which I can't sell. A few of these are in this album.

Large cross stitched pieces

These are the biggies, the ones that took months and months to stitch. I normally didn't keep track, but I do remember one of the pieces took about 6 months altogether to finish.

Mini Sampler11465 viewsThis was stitched on either 28 or 32 evenweave over one...I'm guessing it was 28 count. The yellow "frame" is just a piece of paper and was included in the cover kit. I don't normally stitch samplers, but I love miniatures as well as British cross stitch magazine cover kits, so I made this one.

Rebel Rouser6413 viewsClassic denim jeans and jacket with black "turtle-neck" dickey. Since the dolls are so small, sleeves under the jacket would be unnecessary added bulk.

Mariko bear5999 viewsThis is Mariko bear. She's crocheted out of three or four strands of metallic gold embroidery floss. Her cape is rayon embroidery floss. Her nose and flowers are made of 15/0 seed beads, beaded in peyote stitch, the nose in a heart shape. She's fully jointed (arms, legs and head).
