This was my entry into a beadwork contest with the theme Winter Wonderland. I did my best to illustrate the Christmas carol by the same name. I designed a few more small pieces to go on it but didn't make them because they wouldn't fit.
I can't wait to see your closeups! Thank you so much for explaining how you worked the bracelet. I haven't tried that program, but will, now that you mention it!
Just a thought, if you decide not to make earrings, maybe you'd want to make a bracelet of just bird motifs? I'd love to see pics of them...they sound incredible, like everything else!
And that's very kind of you to offer to share your small patterns!
Thank you so much for the compliments. The base bracelet probably took about a day and a half. I'ts mostly flat peyote worked into freeform peyote. I found some good info on how to creat freeform peyote projects online. The small pieces that were sewn to the bracelet to illustrate the song are mostly done in brick stitch. The fireplace is made using square stitch. I used a small free program called Easy Beads Pattern Designer to make the small motifs. The hat of the snowman was made separately and sewn to him and the carrot nose is 3D. I wove back down through the beads and came out through to add the small orange beads for his nose. The whole bracelet probably took about a week or so, maybe a day or two longer. I have a clown snowman, a blue bird and a cardinal also but they would have made it too crowded. (The cardinal is my interpretation of a "new bird" as we see cardinals in winter here) I may do up the two birds and turn them into earrings to go with the braclet. I don't mind sharing the little patterns I made for the small pieces so I can always email them if desired. I discovered how to turn the program specific pattern files into jpg lol. I'll try to take some closeups of the different pieces. Thank you again for the compliments.
