Charlene,
Thank you so much for explaining! I'm sorry it's so rough to work with...but it sounds like it's WONDERFUL once you've done the shampoo/creme rinse! That explains why it looks so nice and soft in the pictures!
Re: the Community...we'll let you know when you can use it and then we'll activate you for it...we're really looking for feedback, such as, is it easy to use...do you have suggestions, etc. This will be in about a week, maybe less. Thanks for being willing to try it out!

As for the yarn. To begin with it's rough, and no, it doesn't have a soft hand. Once I finish working with this raw yarn, I wash it gently (swish and rinse) a couple of times in tepid water. Once the shampoo is all washed out (I use the cheapest bargain brand) I fill the sink with water and agitate creme rinse in the water and swish the wool garment around in it for several minutes. I roll the item in a big fluffy towel to get excess water out of it and leave it somewhere to dry. This scarf I just dropped in a bundle on the nearest heating vent. It was dry in a couple of hours.
Once the wool has been *treated* with the shampoo and creme rinse, it is lovely soft.

Charlene,
Both pieces are fantastic! I love the shape of your hats...always so eye-pleasing...and the scarf is amazing, too! Do the yarns FEEL as lovely as they look like they do? I really like a good-feeling yarn to knit with...if I don't want to knit with it, frankly, I don't want to wear it, either, nor do I feel comfortable selling or giving away rough-feeling items as gifts. (Do you also have to touch the various yarns when you go to a yarn store? This is absolutely IMPERATIVE for me!)
LOVELY work, as always, and thank you again for posting your eye candy!
