Hi, All
First, for anyone having any problems bringing up the freePatternWizard pattern creation software by using the top drop-down menu, feel free to Take This Link
Our showcase has been updated. If you've previously uploaded a showcase in the past, please check to see if it's been posted; meanwhile, if you want to submit one (or another one, if you've already posted before), feel free to do so!
Also note we now have an additional (optional) assembly page for the freePatternWizard. This is for larger pieces that have multiple pages. Much smaller patterns won't need this.
To freePatternWizard paid Premium subscribers having problems logging in:
If you're logged into your Stitchboard account (shows "Hi, name" in the upper right corner of each page), you can ignore the rest of this message.
If you're not logged into your Stitchboard account and you are a freePatternWizard paid Premium subscriber, please take this link one time to verify your subscription(s). It will also ask you to change your password. Again, you only need to do this once.
If you are not a paid Premium subscriber and are having problems logging in, try logging into the Stitchboard website. If you see an "Invalid login username or password" message, you may need to re-register at this link or by clicking the "Register" link at the top of the page. If you try re-registering and get a "duplicate email address" message, you'll need to go through the "password change" function by using this link.
To read a particular post, simply click on it!
I forgot to mention above that the full size of the resized image is 214 width x 221 high at 144 ppi.
Sue,
The artwork function will be turned on shortly after I turn on the new internal graphics engine that's the heart of the freePatternWizard. This new "engine" will make the program much more flexible and is the first step to bringing the new freePatternWizard software live.
I'm currently in the final stages of testing and debugging this new software.
Terry
No worries, you're not a bother...thanks for asking, because any questions you have, others undoubtedly also have!
We don't currently support stitches other than single crochet, Tunisian and filet crochet. We'll be adding others, but at this time we don't have extended single crochet.
I would say extended single crochet would be very likely to elongate your stitches to the point where they would skew your pattern. You could try this with a single letter, make one swatch with the letter in sc, then make another swatch with the same letter in extended sc. You should choose a letter that would show clearly what effect the extended single crochet stitch would have on it. A letter "I," for instance, probably would look fairly normal, perhaps just a tiny bit longer, so that one wouldn't give conclusive results.
We'll definitely be adding more stitches in the future...I'll suggest we place a higher priority on that, which is what we do with our more popular requested features. With over 100 features planned, it's going to take some time, so we try to prioritize what people are requesting.

Melanie,
I could do that.. I actually thought of something.. I have these cones with a wool/silk blend.. So I thought of doing my project with 2 strands.. But I'm not sure if I will have enough yarn then.. And as you know, if I buy the same color again, then there might be a slight difference in the color anyway.. o.O
So I'm thinking of buying 2 new cones (just because you can never get enough yarn)..
Well.. We'll have to see about that.. I have to find a color that I like first.. :p
Hugs,
Line
George,
Welcome!

If you have a good image of an American flag, you could try putting it through the freePatternWizard. The formats of gif and png are best for this, jpg is not generally recommended, since the colors don't tend to stay "true," as they can get smudgy and give undesired results.
If you don't want to graph the pattern, perhaps you can get one for free...I do know Lion Brand has a freebie, but I have to warn you, the stars are sewn on:
https://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/L30154.html?noImages=
I haven't seen anything in searches that doesn't have sewn on stars.
