New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Amy,
In addition to needing a better format, I can see where this image could be problematic, even in GIF form. The problem with the image itself is that inner line. The freePatternWizard will do its best with it, but since the outer line is thick and the inner line is thin, it's going to have trouble designating which stitch is for which line. There's not enough space and too much line, too close together.
There are alternatives. You could make the fleur-de-lis as a solid and then cross stitch over your single crochets to make the inner line. Another possibility would be to surface crochet with your color for that inner line. That would probably look the best! You could also just do some simple experimenting...make a gauge swatch and see how it looks to surface crochet or cross stitch over your single crochets, to give you an idea of what would work best.
Dennaew,
Welcome!
At this time editing functions are in development and aren't yet available. If what you're trying to add isn't in your original image, you won't be able to add it later on in this particular version of the software. Because the editing functions need to be rigorously tested, I'm sorry to say I can't give a specific date as to when they'll be ready.
Line,
Great idea to give some to your MIL! I wouldn't want to waste the time or money putting on makeup just to take it off, either. Ingenious idea, to have someone else test them for you!
If they go over really well, maybe you'd want to sell some here and there?
Hugs,
Melanie
Melanie,
There is NOTHING I can do about some refund of some sorts.. :/
The contract says that the house have to be tidy.. We made a deal with the previous owners face to face.. But apparently they didn't care about that... -.-'
Thomas starts work again monday 20th.. So it is not much time we have together as a family... After that I have both kids at home until they start in daycare 1st of august..
After that I can hopefully relax a little... And hopefully I start school in september... Fingers crossed..
And thanks.. I might just vent a bit.. :p

Dskea,
Welcome!
The
freePatternWizard was originally set up to keep people from skewing
their patterns, which is the reason for the lack of a choice of the
number of rows when creating patterns. It takes the number of
stitches across and creates a suitable length pattern to best fit
with your uploaded image and chosen size.
We
do have a version where one can enter the number of rows you want
in addition to stitches; however, please keep in mind that it will
likely change the aspect ratio, so something might look "off"
because it's stretched or narrowed.
If
you're interested, we could make this option available to
you.
If not, there are other ways to keep
within the correct aspect ratio, by adding borders to fool the
freePatternWizard into creating the correct number of rows. This
unfortunately does require experimenting to get the correct size;
I've done this and it's not an exact science.
If you'd prefer to add borders and you're on a Windows
PC but you don't have a graphics program, there are two I can
suggest that are free, have been around for ages and are quite
powerful. (The only thing is, I can't tell you how to use them, as
I'm personally using - seriously - a program that was released in
1998, lol.)
